If you’re not keen on joining one of our open group climbs, or would like to consider an alternative route or dates, then we can help you plan a private climb. Note that for small groups or individuals a private climb will be more expensive than joining one of our existing group climbs. But for larger group sizes (6+) the costs quickly start to even out.
Tailor-made climb itineraries
We have experience of every route on Kilimanjaro, from the popular southern routes (Marangu, Machame) to the most technical routes (Western Breach) and everything in between.
Whatever you want from your Kilimanjaro climb, we can produce an itinerary tailor-made to your preferences. (We can then advertise your expedition to other prospective climbers to bring your costs down – see our open groups page for more info).
Our private climbs are fully customisable, meaning you are not restricted to a group timetable or fixed departure dates.

At Gane and Marshall we have been organising Kilimanjaro climbs since 1991.

- We offer the highest staff to climber ratio on the mountain, with one mountain guide for every two climbers, irrespective of group size. Many operators will offer only one mountain guide (also irrespective of group size!)
- Personalised service and advice from Jeremy Gane, manager of the 2009 Red Nose Climb for Comic Relief. Jeremy personally oversees all of our Kilimanjaro bookings from start to finish.
- Climbing costs that are fair to you, to us and most importantly to the climb team who will get you to the summit. Unlike many international operators, we do not charge a premium for our climbs, but rather charge costs that are very close to what you would pay locally.
